Kochi: As an expecting mother when Sheeba had to wait endlessly for an autorickshaw, all she wished for was to have some drivers' contact details in her mobile phone. When she was back from the hospital with her little bundle of joy, Sheeba thought of all those who may have to face the same struggles she underwent and decided to help them in a techie-way.
There is no wonder Sheeba, a B.Tech degree holder who is otherwise a usual home-maker from Thoppumpady, decided to develop a mobile application 'Aey Auto' for hiring autorickshaws in emergency situations.
Nearly 200 autorickshaw drivers have already joined the 'Aey Auto' pool. In Kochi itself, drivers from 20 spots have registered their number with the App.
The app also has the facility to contact police during emergency situations.
Sheeba was all praise for her husband Subilal who offered her full support to work on the app despite being in the midst of confusions that comes along with being new parents.
