Sony has launched two new smartphones in the mid-range segment of the Indian market, viz., Sony Xperia R1 Plus and Xperia R1. The new phones will go on sale from November 10. Both will be available for pre-order on Amazon starting November 5.

Specifications and features
Sony Xperia R1 Plus and Sony Xperia R1 come with nearly identical features and specifications. As mentioned, the phones differ in RAM and storage. Xperia R1 comes with 2GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage.
On the other end, Xperia R1 Plus comes with 3GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. The phones support up to 128 GB (via microSD card).
The dual SIM phones (nano SIMs) come with 5.2-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) TFT displays and run on Android Nougat (7.0). The company promises Oreo update for the devices. The phones are powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC processor, clocked at 1.4 GHz. Both pack a 2620mAh battery and support USB Type-C port.
Considering the photography features, both the phones come with a 13MP primary camera on the rear and an 8MP camera at the front for selfies and video calling. The rear camera is loaded with features like Predictive Hybrid Autofocus, LED Flash, Exmor Sony Sensor, Face Detection, Countdown Timer, Beauty Mode, Continuous Shooting, 12 Capturing Modes and 8X Clear Zoom.
Connectivity features include GPRS/EDGE, 4G (LTE Cat. 4), GPS, Bluetooth 4.2, FM radio and Wi-Fi. The phones are available in two color variants – silver and black. The phones, measuring 146 x 73.2 x 8.8mm, weigh 154 grams.
