Honor 9 Lite | Photo: hihonor.comHuawei owned handset maker Honor launched their new smartphone Honor 9 Lite in India on Wednesday. The company had, while launching the phone in China last month, promised to make the phone to be available in 14 other countries including India.

Honor 9 Lite specifications
Honor 9 Lite is a dual-SIM (Nano) phone which runs on company’s own EMUI 8.0 which is based on Android 8.0 Oreo. The phone comes with a 5.65-inch full-HD IPS display (1080x2160 pixels) with a pixel density of 428ppi. The screen comes with 18:9 aspect ratio.
The phone is powered by a 1.7 GHz octa-core processor coupled with Huawei HiSilicon Kirin 659 SoC and either 3GB or 4GB of RAM.
Honor 9 Lite sports dual camera setup - 13 MP primary camera and 2 MP secondary camera, on both the front and rear ends. The rear camera is loaded with features like PDAF autofocus, LED flash among others.
The phone comes in two inbuilt storage variants - 32GB or 64GB and supports up to 256GB (via microSD card).
Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, GPS/ A-GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, 3.5mm audio jack, Bluetooth, and Micro-USB with OTG support. The phone boards sensors like accelerometer, proximity sensor, magnetometer (digital compass) and ambient light sensor.
It is powered by a 3000mAh battery which is rated to offer up to 20-hours of talk time on 3G, and a standby time of up to 24 days. In addition, the company claims Honor 9 Lite to get fully charged in about 2 hours 20 minutes. The smartphone, measuring 151x71.9x7.6mm (length/height, width, and thickness), weighs 149 grams.
The new smartphone will feature four cameras – dual cameras on both the front and the rear ends. The Honor 9 Lite price in India starts at Rs. 10,999 for the 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage variant. The 4GB RAM/ 64GB variant, on the other hand, is priced at Rs. 14,999.
