Cupertino, Calif.: A decade after then-CEO Steve Jobs unveiled the first iPhone, Apple Inc on Tuesday introduced a completely redesigned top-of-the-line iPhone along with two other new phones, as well as a big upgrade to the Apple Watch and a higher-definition Apple TV.
Highlights from the launch event:
12.20 am: The iPhone X price starts at $999. It has got 12MP dual camera and Quad LED True Tone flash.
12.10 am: The wireless charging is using a charging mat called Air Power
12.01 am: 1 in 50,000 could unlock your phone using Touch ID fingerprint sensor. However, in Face ID is more secure and only 1 in a million can unlock the phone.
11.56 pm: iPhone X is unlocked using face recognition, called Face ID.
11.53 pm: The iPhone X gets rid of the home button and all you need to do is swipe from bottom to top to go to home.
11.50 pm: Schiller is back on stage, says the iPhone X has an all new Super Retina display and is water and dust resistant.
11.48 pm: Tim Cook officially announces the 10th anniversary edition iPhone X
11.42 pm: Wireless charging!! The iPhone 8 comes with wireless charging
11.38 pm: Schiller claims the new iPhone has the highest quality video capture ever on a smartphone and that it can shoot 4K at 60 frames per second. Both the phones are custom tuned for augmented reality.
11.31 pm: iPhone 8 Plus has two 12MP cameras, new sensors. There is glass on the front and back of the new iPhone reinforced with steel.
11.27 pm: The phone with new Retina HD display is available in Silver, Space Grey, and a new Gold finish.
11.22 pm: Phil Schiller, Apple's SVP of marketing, introduces iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus
11.17 pm: Apple TV 4K starts at $179 for 32GB
11.11 pm: The Apple TV 4K has A10X processor; supports HDR 10 and Dolby Vision
11.09 pm: Series 3 watches will be available from September 22. But not in India.
11.07 pm: Pricing - Series 1: $249, Series 3: $329, Series 3 with cellular: $399
11.03 pm: The display itself functions as the antenna for LTE. You can also receive calls on your watch.
11.00 pm: Apple Watch series 3 has built in cellular, has a 70 percent faster processor and lets you talk to Siri.
10.55 pm: The new watch gets a software enhancement, allowing it to monitor heart rate.

The new products and the holiday shopping season that follows are the most important for Apple in years. The company has sold more than 1.2 billion iPhones over the past decade and ushered in the era of mobile computing, but last year suffered a substantial decline in revenue as many consumers rejected the iPhone 7 as being too similar to the iPhone 6.
