If you were hoping that the news of 'Thala' Ajith doing a short film is true, sorry mates. It turns out that the images that were doing rounds on social media was from a photoshoot Ajith was part of.

The Tamil actor's PR Suresh Chandra has confirmed in his social media page that 'Thala' directing a short film is a 'mere rumour'. Ajith, who is currently busy shooting for his 56th film directed by Siva, had taken photographs of actor Appukutty (Sivabalan) posing as a model and this kicked off rumours that the star was directing a short film.

According to reports, during one of the casual chats, Ajith had asked Appukutty why the latter was not seen in films often despite winning a National Award. Appukutty told Ajith that people choose him for movies set in rural backdrops and such flicks are not made in Kollywood often.

Ajith then suggested that in order to get all kinds of films, one should shed their regular image and try to fit into the needs of the industry. It was Ajith who advised Appukutty to go for an image makeover.

Later, Ajith himself arranged for a photoshoot and brought in a stylist and makeup artist for Appukutty and created the portfolio of the actor.

Now, that makes Ajith a true star.
