Chennai: An ugly spat involving two young actors has been reported from Kollywood. Actress Adhiti Menon alleged that actor Abi Saravanan was threatening her by forging a fake marriage certificate. The actress has already filed a police complaint against him, but he has charged her of stealing valuables from his house in his plaint.
A native of Idukki district in Kerala, Adhiti’s real name is Athira Santhosh.
The duo had acted together in the Tamil movie 'Pattadhari' which was released in 2016. The couple reportedly fell in love with each other on the sets of the movie.
However, Adhiti says that they parted ways around a year ago following differences. She alleged that Abi was trying to defame her on social media by forging fake marriage certificate which states that she had married him.
Adhiti claimed that Abi had stolen her personal information by hacking into her e– mail and other social media accounts including Twitter, to forge the marriage certificate and other documents.
The actress also blamed Abi for denying her many offers in the movies.
Meanwhile, Abi too has filed a complaint at the Valasaravakkam police station alleging that Adhiti, who promised to marry him, had lived with him and stole many valuables including gold and cash.
Adhiti said that she ended her relationship with Abi after she found out that the actor was having affairs with multiple women. She claimed that Abi had filed the police complaint against her as a revenge for ending the relationship.
Wedding video surfaces online
Abi has reiterated his claim that he had indeed married the actress. He said that they got married at Madurai. He even released a marriage certificate and a few pictures in which both of them are seen together. The pictures were released at a press meet convened by the actor.
Now, a private video of the duo has surfaced online, in which Abi and Adhiti are seen marrying each other. The video, which appears to have shot at a hotel room, is doing the rounds on internet.
However, Adhiti stays firm on her claim that she hasn’t married Abi and alleged that the actor has garnered fake evidences against her.
A few days ago Abi was reported missing from his home. The actor’s parents had then alleged that Adhiti was behind their son’s disappearance. Adhiti decided to file a police complaint following this incident.
“He falsely claims that I had married and deceived him and then tried to abduct him. It is true that we were in a relationship. However, we parted ways following differences and had even talked about it. I have no idea why he is hurting me like this. He has forged a fake marriage certificate to prove that we were married. I have filed a complaint against it as well,” Adhiti told media persons.
Adhiti made her acting debut through 'Pattadhari', while 'Attakathi', released in 2012, was Abi’s debut movie. The actress is currently acting in Tamil movies 'Kalavani Mappilai', 'Enna Sattam Inda Neram' and 'Kumki 2'.
