The success story of Charlie, the film that swept the potential Malayalee crowd off their feet, seems to have flowed quietly into yet another brand new chapter.
The film that bagged quite a handful of State Awards, including Best Actor for Dulquer Salmaan, Best Actress for Parvathy and Best Director for Martin Prakkat, is still at the top of the charts, wooing audience with a theme and style of storytelling seldom tried in Malayalam cinema.
Dulquar, whose popularity is touching the skies right now, might reprise his role in the Tamil variant. The rest of the cast is yet to be finalised, director Martin Prakkat said. The film will be produced under the banner of Pramod Films. Actor Dhanush had, at an earlier juncture, expressed interest in acquiring the rights of Charlie. The film is touted to be remade in Bengali and Marathi as well.
Charlie, along with the strong title character, has pivotal characters played by Parvathy, Aparna Gopinath, Nedumudi Venu, Tovino Thomas, Neeraj Madhav and Soubin Shahir among others.
