Surprised? So are we! An old video showing actor Suriya praying at a mosque is going viral on social media, triggering speculations that the actor has embraced Islam. But a statement from his PRO says that the reports are baseless.
Denying the rumors, the press note said that the video that is doing the rounds on social media was taken in 2013, when Suriya visited the Ameen Peer Dargah at the invitation of music composer A.R. Rahman’s mother while he was shooting for a film in Kadapa. Suriya was reportedly shooting for Singam 2 at the time.
The note said Suriya has no plan to change his religion.
Suriya is currently shooting for Vignesh Shivan’s Thaanaa Serndha Koottam.
