Chemmanur was remanded to 14 days of judicial custody after being booked in a sexual harassment case filed by actor Honey Rose.
The case was filed based on a complaint lodged by Dhisha Kerala, a non-governmental organisation (NGO).
So why does body shaming persist in a world striving to champion body positivity?
The case stems from an incident on August 7, 2024, during the inauguration of a Chemmanur International Jewellers showroom in Alacode, Kannur, where Honey Rose was a guest.
The High Court bench led by Justice P V Kunhikrishnan granted a condition bail, following a review of the police report.
The Ernakulam Central Police confirmed receiving a complaint against Easwar, filed by a Thrissur resident, accusing him of making offensive comments about Honey Rose.
They also revealed that the release date of the film has not been finalized yet and that controversies related to Honey Rose's personal life have no bearing on the movie’s release.
The complaint accuses Easwar of making offensive comments about the actress during a television debate.
