Kochi: The Youth Commission has filed a case against self-proclaimed commentator Rahul Easwar for alleged derogatory remarks about actor Honey Rose. The case was filed based on a complaint lodged by Dhisha Kerala, a non-governmental organisation (NGO) that accused Easwar of repeatedly demeaning womanhood and spreading misogynistic comments through television channels.

Youth Commission Chairman M Shajar stated that people who insult survivors during television debates should not be allowed to participate in such discussions. The commission announced the decision during an Adalat held at the Malappuram Collectorate.

Earlier, Honey Rose had filed a complaint against Easwar, alleging that he had targeted her through social media. Following this, Easwar applied for anticipatory bail.

While the police sought legal advice on registering a case, Easwar approached the High Court, prompting the court to direct the police to clarify their stance. However, the police have yet to register a case.

In his bail plea, Easwar denied insulting Honey Rose and claimed he had only offered suggestions regarding her attire. He asserted that he had not made any statements through the media that could provoke cyber harassment. Easwar further stated that he opposes all forms of cyberbullying.
