The makers of 'Rachel' have issued a statement clarifying that the film has no connection to the ongoing legal battle between actress Honey Rose and businessman Boby Chemmanur. They also revealed that the release date of the film has not been finalized yet and that controversies related to Honey Rose's personal life have no bearing on the movie’s release.
Producer Badusha explained, "The technical work for Rachel, starring Honey Rose, is still incomplete. The film has not even been submitted for censorship yet. According to the law, a film must be submitted for censorship at least 15 days before its release. The personal controversies surrounding Honey Rose are her private matters and do not affect the movie’s release. We will provide more information about the film in due course."
'Rachel' was originally scheduled to release on January 10. In the film, Honey Rose portrays the role of a butcher, a character that has already sparked attention, especially with the release of the film's posters on social media. This is set to be Honey Rose’s first strong, female-centric role. Directed by Anandhini Bala, the movie is planned to be released in five languages. It was expected to be one of the first Malayalam films to hit the screens this year.
Co-produced and co-written by Abrid Shine, Rachel promises to offer an intense and unique viewing experience, filled with violence and bloodshed. The movie follows a revenge narrative, and Honey Rose showcases her acting talent in the teaser. Alongside Honey Rose, the film features prominent actors such as Baburaj, Kalabhavan Shajon, Roshan Basheer, Chandu Salimkumar, Radhika Radhakrishnan, Jaffer Idukki, Vineeth Thattil, Joji, Dinesh Prabhakar, Polly Valsan, and Vanditha Manoharan in key roles.
