New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his first-ever podcast hosted by Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath, urged India’s youth to embrace politics with dedication and selflessness. In a candid two-hour discussion, PM Modi reflected on his life journey, leadership principles, and the qualities essential for political success, reported IANS.
Sharing the podcast trailer on his X handle, the PM wrote, “I hope you all enjoy this as much as we enjoyed creating it for you!”
The Prime Minister emphasised the need for young leaders to enter politics with a mission rather than personal ambition. “India needs one lakh dedicated young politicians who prioritise the nation’s well-being over personal gain,” he stated, echoing his earlier remarks from the Red Fort.
Highlighting the difference between being a politician and succeeding in politics, PM Modi said, “True success requires sacrifice, empathy, teamwork, and the ability to connect with people on a personal level.” He explained that leadership is about winning people’s hearts and living their lives with them, drawing inspiration from Mahatma Gandhi’s principles.
Recalling Gandhi’s influence during the independence movement, PM Modi noted, “Gandhi’s strength lay in his dedication and values, not appearances or age. The unity of people across all sections of society during that period serves as a powerful example of selfless service.”
During the podcast, PM Modi shared anecdotes from his early life, including his decision to leave home at a young age. He reminisced about reconnecting with 35 former classmates, teachers, and relatives after becoming Gujarat’s Chief Minister, an experience he described as grounding and humbling.
The Prime Minister also cited examples of inspiring leaders, such as Ashok Bhatt, a party worker and minister, who displayed unwavering commitment to public service. He praised Bhatt’s dedication to addressing issues, such as improving accident-prone roads in Vadodara, which he said exemplified the challenging yet rewarding nature of political life.
Kamath praised PM Modi’s vision and expressed hope that the conversation would inspire young Indians to view politics as a meaningful and impactful career.
