The magic of Malabar will soon reach world travellers through a number of projects that will be launched in the next five years. A walkway project at the Kadalundi Bird Sanctuary, the Malabar Literary Circuit project, the Thikkodi Beach project, the Vaikom Muhammed Basheer Memorial and Beypore and Beyond development are some of the initiatives in the pipeline. Recently, eight projects were completed in Kozhikode, including The Natural Learning Centre at Sarovaram, Kuttichira Lake and Bhat Road Bliss Park.
Many spots like Karapuzha were recently announced as a potential tourism hub in the region and Tourism Minister Mohamed Riyas had also proposed a master plan to boost tourism here, a few months ago. Now that Nipah virus concerns have also faded, tourism is back on track in the zone. The Malabar region of Kerala is rich with diverse cultures and destinations, alongside its own signature cuisine for different communities. The festivals of the region, like Pattambi Nercha, Manjeri Pooram, Puthari Thiruvappana, Kottiyoor Vaishaka Mahotsavam, Theyyam, Chittur Kongapada and more have also been major crowd pullers for long.
