The events directly organised by the Carnival Committee, including the burning of the 50-foot effigy of Pappanji at the Fort Kochi Parade Ground and the New Year's Day rally, have been called off.
While the main programmes of the meet are scheduled on March 30, 31 and April 1, cultural events and a boat trip are among the engagements planned on April 2.
While the festivities will be taking place at hotels and grounds in Kochi city, the scene of action will be the streets in Fort Kochi.
Goa is super fun during the annual carnival days.
The day would begin by paying homage to the martyrs at the war memorial at the St Francis Church premises in Fort Kochi around 9 am.
