Congress leader P Chidambaram is under observation at Ahmedabad's Zydus Hospital, after he fainted while at the Sabarmati Ashram on Tuesday. His son and Congress MP Karti Chidambaram had earlier revealed that Chidambaram experienced 'presyncope,' a condition in which you almost faint but don't lose consciousness. 'Syncope' is a medical term for fainting, according to the Cleveland Clinic. 'Presyncope', meanwhile, is considered a warning signal before a blackout and is caused by dehydration, low blood sugar, anxiety, orthostatic hypotension caused by quick standing up and heart rhythm issues. Chidambaram said on his social media page that his tests are normal and he is fine.
