Keralite Pranav Prince was awarded a bullet for the men's Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the 3rd All India Balkar Singh Cheema Memorial Basketball Championship at Kapurthala in Punjab.

Priyanka of South Central Railway was declared the MVP in the women's category and received a scooter as the reward.

But Pranav's individual brilliance could not help his Indian Bank side clinch the title as local favourites Punjab Police edged them 74-71 in the men's final. Amritpal Singh top-scored with 31 points as the Punjab side bounced back from a 7-point deficit at half-time.

In the women's category, the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) finished runner-up to South Central Railway. In their deciding round-robin tie against the railways side, KSEB led 17-7 in the first quarter but lost 46-54.
