Star batter Shafali Verma scored a brilliant 197 for Haryana against Bengal in the Senior Women's One-Day Trophy quarterfinals in Rajkot on Monday.

The big-hitting right-hander smashed 11 sixes and 22 boundaries in her 115-ball innings, scoring at a strike rate of 171.

Riding on opener Shafali's explosive batting, assisted by half-centuries from Sonia Mendhiya (61) and Reema Sisodia (58), Haryana posted a massive 389/5 in 50 overs. Shafali and Reema added 173 for the first wicket.

With her powerful performance, Shafali once again pushed her case for a recall to the senior national team. She was dropped from the India squad for a recent three-match ODI series in Australia. Her poor run of 108 runs in six ODI matches was why she missed out.

Shafali is also not part of India's ongoing home series against West Indies. India crushed the Windies by 211 runs after posting 314/9 in the first ODI in Vadodara on Sunday.
