Thrissur: The death toll from the Peechi dam accident climbed to three after Erin (16), a native of Metro Nagar, Pattikkad, passed away on Tuesday evening. Erin, the daughter of Binod and Julie, was on ventilator support.

On Monday, two other girls from Pattikkad, Aleena (16) and Ann Grace (15), also passed away while undergoing treatment at Jubilee Mission Hospital, Thrissur.

Another girl, Nima (12), remains under medical care, with doctors reporting an improvement in her condition.

The tragic incident occurred on Sunday when the group of friends fell into the Peechi Dam reservoir. The accident was triggered as they attempted to save a friend who had slipped, leading to all four being swept into the water. The group had visited Peechi for church feast celebrations.
