A 65-year-old woman died after falling out of a moving private bus at Thiruvilwamala in Thrissur. The deceased, Indira Devi, was a native of Thavakkalpadi, Kizhakke Chakingal, Thiruvilwamala. The incident occurred around 7:30 am near Kattoor Government Vocational School on Sunday.

The bus, Marva, was travelling from Kollamkode to Kadampuzha when the driver allegedly applied a sudden brake to avoid a cat crossing the road. According to the driver, Shakeer, the abrupt stop caused Indira to fall from her seat and strike the manually operated door, which subsequently opened and led her to tumble out of the vehicle.

Indira, who had boarded the bus with her daughter at Kuttupuzha, Pazhampalakkode, sustained severe injuries, including head trauma, when she hit the road. Despite being rushed to a private hospital in Ottapalam, her life could not be saved. The driver, who fled the scene after the accident, later surrendered at the Pazhayannur police station.
