Jaison’s brand new house that exudes the grand elegance of colonial architecture has become a major landmark in Peringottukara in Thrissur. The majestic mansion that sprawls in 6000 sqft boasts of luxurious features and mind-blowing amenities. Designer Latheesh Menon deserves credit for designing this palatial mansion, catering to the likes and interests of the family that is settled abroad.
The 30 cents plot is secured with an elaborate compound wall built using solid blocks. The gate, meanwhile, features a unique design in wood and toughened glass. The natural stone cladding on the compound wall is an interesting designer element. The verdant lawns are paved with Koran grass. Meanwhile, the driveway between the lawns and the front yard has been paved with Bangalore stones.
It is the fabulous structure and the colour palette that grant a colonial charm to this house. The walls don a white hue that makes the spaces brighter. Besides, the natural stone claddings and the shingles that are paved on the roof add to the elegant look of the elevation. The doors and the windows on the outer walls are all made in exquisite teak wood. These too have a classy white paint finish. The canopy above the walkway that leads to the sit-out has been made in glass and GI. Meanwhile, the fabulous blend of flat and slope roofs is the highlight of the grand structure.
The house has two entrances, built to suit the needs of the family. One entrance leads to an office-cum-guest area while the other one leads to the interiors from the sit-out. The flooring in this luxurious mansion has been done in a combination of vitrified tiles and granite. The doors and windows are made in teak wood to make it sturdy and classy. The interiors are smartly designed to receive natural sunshine and cool air abundantly. The roof and the wall pergolas and the skylight bring lots of golden sunshine into the house, illuminating the spaces with natural sun rays.
The amazing space management is the highlight of the interiors. It allows great communication between the spaces and makes interior traffic easier. Meanwhile, the areas are designed around the central courtyard which is the soul of the house. Interestingly, most of the facilities are arranged on the ground floor itself. Drawing and living areas, prayer space, family living area, courtyard, kitchen, dining area and bedrooms are on the ground floor. The custom-made furniture looks classy and makes the interiors space efficient too. Most of the furnishing works in this palatial house have been done in teak wood.
The elegant natural stone cladding makes the wall in the central courtyard an eye-catching feature. Texture paints and beautiful wallpapers have been used to make the interiors attractive. The living and dining areas are arranged on either side of the courtyard. The dining table is simple and has been made using wood with a nano white tabletop. Meanwhile, the stairway features an elegant combination of wood, glass and GI square pipe. A quaint beauty court too has been arranged beneath the stairway to save space.
The island kitchen is open and boasts of all the modern facilities. The countertop has been paved with nano white. Lots of cabinets and counters to have been arranged for storage.
The master bedroom is elegant and is extremely functional too. The cushion upholstery work on the head side is attractive. A private court to has been arranged as part of the master bedroom.
Jaison has five kids. So, a spacious and elaborately furnished room has been arranged for them. It has bunk beds and lots of storage space. The spacious areas, beautifully designed elements and modern amenities make this grand mansion an expatriate’s dream come true.
