Telugu director Trinadha Rao Nakkina whose film 'Mazaka' will hit theatres soon has drawn flak for his statements against actor Anshu during the film's audio launch. Trinadha who shared his excitement about working with 'Manmadhudu' actor Anshu passed comments about the actor's size.
He began his speech by stating that he had seen Nagarjuna's 2002 film 'Manmadhudu' several times only because of actor Anshu.
He then went on to say that the actor was looking thin now and actors in Tollywood need to be 'bigger'. “Does she still look the same from 'Manmudhudu'? Shes thinner now. I asked her to eat and put on weight because it is not enough for Telugu cinema. Size needs to be bigger here. She has improved and she will improve further,” he said on stage. The actor, however, did not look amused by the statement. Netizens soon slammed the director for his comments after a video of the statement went viral on X.
“SHOCKING! Mazaka director Trinadha Rao Nakkina makes controversial comments about heroine Anshu. She looks so embarrassed,” wrote one person on 'X'. Another person wrote, “DISGUSTING: Director Trinath Rao Nakkina comment about Heroine #Anshu!”
Anshu who is making her comeback to films with 'Mazaka' has only acted in a few movies. She rose to fame for her performance in 'Mamadhudu.' She plays Yashoda in 'Mazaka', which stars Sundeep Kishan and Rao Ramesh.
