Kochi: With 'Barroz', the debut film directed by superstar Mohanlal, all set for release, the winners of the ‘Barroz and 1000 Kids’ online painting competition were presented with their awards at a function in Kochi on Saturday.
Speaking at the event, Mohanlal shared that he felt distressed as his mother was unwell and would not be able to watch the 3D film in the theater. "But I played all the songs from Barroz for her and will certainly show her the film on a pen drive," he said, responding to a query from the children about his mother’s opinion of his directorial venture.

Mohanlal, who is celebrating 47 years as an actor this year, stated that he always wanted his first film as a director to be aimed at children and the family audience.

The painting contest was organized by Manorama Online and Jain University in association with Manorama Nallapaadam. A Barroz Treasure Hunt was also conducted during the award function.

Film producer Antony Perumbavoor, New Initiatives Director of Jain University Tom Joseph, Coordinating Editor of Manorama Online Santhosh George Jacob, and Senior General Manager of Marketing at Manorama Online Bobby Paul also spoke at the event.
