Tourists can soon explore the 'heaven on earth' Jammu and Kashmir on the new rage, Vande Bharat trains. Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw shared a few details on the same via his social media page, recently. Apparently, a Chennai-based factory is all set to develop Kashmir-specific trains with facilities like indoor heating, and water lines that that won't freeze in the cold and run smoothly at the region's altitude.
The date of the launch has not been revealed yet, but the trains will be operational after the Jammu-Srinagar railway line becomes functional, most probably in this financial year itself. Semi-high speed trains will also be allocated to serve Tripura and Meghalaya, by next financial year. As per reports, they will have eight coaches and two types of seats - Executive AC Chair car and AC Chair Car. About 75 Vande Bharat trains will also be rolled out by March next year.
