Since the summer holiday began, Munnar has been experiencing a good inflow of tourists, especially in major spots like Rajamala, Mattupetti, Top Station, Hydel Park and Botanical Garden. However, the vehicles carrying tourists who return after sightseeing don't have enough space to park for shopping. Forseeing the tourist season, the vendors here have kept stocks costing lakhs, ready. Those who run their shops on rent are apparently suffering the most. In the past, there was space for parking from the RO Junction to the Bypass Bridge. The setting up of temporary shops in this stretch has resulted in a lack of space.

Regardless of it all, if you still want to check out Munnar in the Vishu, Easter weekends, here are a few less-crowded spots recommended by the Munnar Tourist Guides Association:
1) The Munnar Gap Road View Point
2) Signal Point
3) Lockhart Eastate and tea gardens
4) Lakkam Waterfalls
5) Thoovanam Waterfalls
6) Sandalwood forest
