Thirumullavaram brings brilliant images of long stretches of palm fringed silvery sands to one’s mind. It is becoming a highly popular beach destination in Kerala. Foreign tourists and locals are thronging the beach – a good place for a picnic or a spell in the sun. The beach is located roughly 6 kms north of Kollam. It is linked by road and is easily accessible. The beach is ideal for an early morning jaunt. The sight of fishermen gliding out to sea in catamarans and country boats is a sight to behold. Thirumullavaram beach is also ideally suited for a bath and a good swim. The Nyarazhcha Para, a rock, which is located oneandahalf kilometre into the sea can be spotted in low tides. The Mahavishnu Temple near the beach attracts many devout Hindus.
