Sunil Chhetri came off the bench to score a late winner against FC Goa, sending Bengaluru FC to the final of the Indian Super League on Sunday.

Bengaluru won the semifinal 3-2 on aggregate despite Goa winning the second leg tonight, 2-1. Bengaluru had clinched a 2-0 victory in the first leg.

Borja Herrera (49) and Sadiku (88) scored to make the aggregate 2-2, cancelling out Bengaluru's lead from the first leg. The game was headed toward extra time when 40-year-old Chhetri scored a brilliant diving header in the second minute of added time. Namgyal Bhutia showed great commitment to pounce on a loose ball and cross into the box for a memorable assist. Chhetri had been left on the bench to start with and was only introduced in the 55th minute.

Mohun Bagan Super Giant and Jamshedpur FC will play the second leg of their semifinals on Monday, with the latter leading 2-1 on aggregate. Bengaluru await the winners of that match in the final on April 12.

Bengaluru had finished league phase in the third position, behind Mohun Bagan and Goa, they were 18 points off the Kolkata side and 10 short of the team they knocked out tonight. Bengaluru have been in the final on three other occasions, winning once (2018-19) and losing the other finals to Chennaiyin and Mohun Bagan.
