Hello
MEDISEP is the Medical Insurance for State Employees and Pensioners in Kerala.
The second phase of the scheme will be implemented with major changes.
Recommendation handed over to Chief Minister by specially appointed committee headed by ex-IAS officer V Senthil; move to 'fast-track project approvals'
According to the order of the Finance Department, which came into effect on April 1, these surgeries can be done only in government hospitals enrolled with Medisep.
The HC has ordered to decide on the matter after giving hearing the association and others who are interested. The Court has stated that a fresh petition can be filed by the association if needed within two weeks.
Treatment costing over Rs. 308 crore was extended through the Medisep scheme to more than 1 lakh persons in the past six months.
The private hospitals, including KIMS, Thiruvananthapuram, which were reluctant to join hands with the scheme have now tied up with MEDISEP.
The CM has convened an urgent meeting of coop hospitals at noon on August 27. Besides, the administration has started training private hospitals on the scheme.
As MEDISEP was implemented in a hurried manner, many hospitals still have no clarity regarding the proceedings.
The non-cooperation of hospitals are more evident in Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Kozhikode and Kannur districts.
