The list of substandard medicines includes vitamin C and D3 tablets from Shelkel, vitamin B complex, soft gels of vitamin C, Pan-D for gas issues, paracetamol 500 mg, glimepiride for diabetes, and telmisartan for high blood pressure.
A total of 16 drugs from the January batch, including three from Kerala State Drugs & Pharmaceuticals Ltd, have been banned by the Drugs Control Department.
According to complaints arose from various health centers, the medicines crumbled when taken from the packet and the patients suffered uneasiness after consuming them.
Out of the 125 samples that failed the quality test, 43 were manufactured by the state-run KSDPL.
