Thrissur: The police have arrested notorious gangster Ramesh (36), known as 'Undappan,' a native of Pazhambilly, Kodakara, for violating a preventive detention order under the Kerala Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act (KAAPA). Despite a six-month restriction barring him from entering the Thrissur Revenue District, Ramesh was found in areas such as Chalakudy, Pariyaram and Kodakara, leading to his arrest.

The arrest was made following instructions from Thrissur District Police Chief B. Krishnakumar IPS to monitor and act against KAAPA violations. A team led by Chalakudy DySP Sumesh K and Kodakara Police Inspector PK Das apprehended the accused. The arresting team included Assistant Sub-Inspector Binu Paulose and officers Ashlin, Sahad and Sreejith.

Ramesh has a long history of criminal activities, including attempted murder cases in Kodakara in 2009 and 2011, assault cases in 2009 and 2023 and vandalism at the Paliyekkara toll plaza in 2022.
