Kozhikode: A stray dog attacked at least eight people in Velliparamba on Sunday, leaving several injured, including four women, two children, and a migrant labourer.

Five injured sought treatment at the Government Medical College Hospital in Kozhikode.  The incident occurred on Chinnan Nair Road, near the Medical College. The stray dog caused chaos, attacking people and animals, including chicks and ducks.

"The dog bit anyone it came across. At least eight people were attacked," said Biju Sivadas, the 19th ward member, speaking to Onmanorama. Sakeena Thazhe Idathil (43), a resident of Chinnan Nair Road, sustained multiple severe injuries to her right hand, while others suffered minor injuries, according to Sivadas. All the injured received anti-rabies vaccines and necessary medical treatment.
