Kochi: Cinematographer Krishna KR, a native of  Perumbavoor who was considered a rising star and a talented technician, passed away in Srinagar following cardiac arrest. She was hospitalised following a chest infection during the shoot of a film. She was 30.

Krishna was part of the crew shooting the third film in the Telugu series 'Hit', directed by renowned director Sailesh Kolanu. Malayalam director and cinematographer Sanu Varghese is the film's DoP. Krishna was working as his associate.

Krishna fell ill while the shooting was underway in Jammu and Kashmir after the schedules in Rajasthan and Arunachal Pradesh.

She was admitted to the Srinagar Government Medical College Hospital on December 23. However, within a few days, she recovered and could even talk to her family. Having learned of her illness, her brother had also arrived in Srinagar. But she suffered a sudden cardiac arrest just as she was about to be moved to the ward on Monday.
