Ingredients
1 ½ cups broken wheat
Water as required
Salt as required
Grated coconut
Bay leaves

Preparation
Dry roast the broken wheat on low flame
Turn off the flame when you get the smell of broken wheat
Grind the roasted broken when after it has cooled down
Add water and mix into puttu powder
Keep it aside for at least half an hour
Wash the bay leaves well
First, fold the bay leaf in half and secure it
Place another bay leaf to cover one of the open ends and secure using toothpicks
Boil water in a steamer and place a stand or a perforated plate
Meanwhile, add some grated coconut into the bay leaf packet
Now add the puttu powder
Put some more coconut on top
Place the bay leaf packets in the steamer
Cook well
