You could just the turn the day into an easy bake day with this lovely banana upside down cake. Some custard on the side, and it's divine.

Ingredients

    1

    100 g butter

100 g brown sugar, finely ground

2

    2 very ripe bananas

    3

    100 g maida

1 tsp baking powder

    4

    100 g butter

100 g ground sugar

    5

    2 eggs

    6

    1 tsp vanilla

Preparation

Keep oven preheated to 180 degrees

Transfer butter and brown sugar (mentioned under 1) to a bowl. Place the bowl inside boiling water and melt the brown sugar completely. Alternatively melt by placing on low flame. When the mixture solidifies to a sauce form, remove from stove and pour into a six inch size cake tin and keep greased

Cut each banana in circles and spread in circular fashion over this syrup. Brush a little syrup also on the banana

Add maida and baking powder and sift together and keep aside

Add butter. Add sugar little by little and beat well (from ingrdients mentioned under 4)

Add eggs one by one to it and beat together

Add maida mixture gently into it and blend

Mix vanilla and blend. Pour over the banana laid out in the cake tin. Bake for 35 minutes in the preheated oven

Take out the cake after it is baked and keep it undisturbed for five minutes. Overturn it in another plate later. Cut into pieces and serve

Serve with custard or cream if used as dessert
