Pacer Mohammed Shami displayed his potential with the bat in Bengal's 3-run victory over Chandigarh in a pre-quarterfinal match of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in Bengaluru on Monday.

Coming in at nine, Shami smashed an unbeaten 32 off 17, including two sixes and three boundaries to help Bengal to 159/9. Shami hit two sixes in the last over from Sandeep Sharma. The extra runs he put on board proved decisive as Bengal restricted Chandigarh to 156/9.
