Thodupuzha: Three people, including Olympian KM Beenamol's sister, were killed after a jeep plunged into a gorge at Panniyarkutty in Idukki on Friday night. The deceased have been identified as Boss (55), his wife Reena (48) from Idayodi, Panniyarkutty, and Abraham (50). The accident occurred after the jeep lost control and fell into the gorge. Reena was Beenamol's sister, and Abraham was their brother KM Binu's father-in-law.

The accident happened around 10.30 pm last night near the new bridge at Panniyarkutty. Boss and his wife lived near the bridge and were returning home after visiting relatives at Mullakkanam. The vehicle lost control near Panniyarkutty church and fell about 100 feet into the gorge. The accident site has a steep descent with a narrow road.

Locals and fire force personnel carried out the rescue operation. All three injured were rushed to Adimali taluk hospital, but Boss and Reena succumbed to their injuries on the way. Abraham passed away in the early hours while undergoing treatment. The bodies are kept at Adimali Taluk Hospital.
