All the services provided by the Motor Vehicles Department (MVD), Kerala, to the public, will be based on Aadhaar from March 1, 2025. The Transport Commissioner has directed all vehicle owners to link Aadhaar-registered mobile numbers to their vehicle records in the Parivahan portal. Vehicle owners whose mobile numbers are not currently linked should update their Parivahan records accordingly, according to a note issued by the MVD.

This can be done independently in the citizen side of the Parivahan portal or through e-Seva/Akshaya Kendras. For those who are unable to update their mobile numbers through these channels, a special counter will be available at the Regional Transport Office (RTOs) / RTOs (Enforcement) / Sub-RTOs from February 1 to 28 for this purpose. The vehicle owners have been directed to utilize this service provided by the Motor Vehicle Department.
