Kochi: A 17-year-old boy was found dead in the swimming pool of a flat complex at Kakkanad on Monday morning. The deceased, identified as Joshua, a Class 11 student, lived with his family on the fourth floor of an apartment complex near Bharata Mata College, Thrikkakara.

The police confirmed to Onmanorama that Joshua died by suicide, sustaining a head injury during the fall. A suicide note was recovered from the scene. ''The boy was last seen at 11 pm on Sunday. He jumped from the 19th floor of the building.

"The caretaker discovered his body near the pool area and alerted the residents’ association, which informed the police,'' an officer said. The body has been shifted to Kalamassery Medical College for post-mortem examination.
