Attari: Just days after the Police seized a drone from across the border after it dropped a cache of arms, ammunition and fake currency in Punjab's Tarn Taran district, another drone has been captured in Mahawa village attempting the same.

The Punjab Police said that they have also busted a terror module of the Khalistan Zindabad Force (KZF), backed by a group based in Pakistan and Germany. It said that the terror group was conspiring to fuel unrest in Punjab and adjoining states.

Four people were arrested in connection with the incident – Balwant Singh, alias Nihang, Akashdeep Singh, alias Akash Randhawa, Harbhajan Singh and Balbir Singh – from the outskirts of Chohla Sahib village in Tarn Taran on the same day.

Police officials said the drone was damaged and it could not fly back to Pakistan after delivering the consignment of weapon.

Five AK-47 rifles, 16 magazines and 472 rounds of ammunition, four Chinese-made 30 bore pistols, along with eight magazines and 72 rounds of ammunition; nine hand grenades, five satellite phones with their ancillary equipment, two mobile phones, two wireless sets and fake currency with the face value of Rs 10 lakh were recovered from them.

Taking serious note of Pakistan using Chinese drones to airdrop weapons in Punjab, the Army and BSF on Thursday sounded an all-out alert along the entire Indo-Pak border and the LoC.

On the recent intrusion of drones from Pakistan, Union Minister of State for Defence Shripad Yesso Naik said that India is capable of dealing with any situation.

The Indian Army has emerged stronger after fighting terrorism, he said on the sidelines of India Defence and Security Expo (IDSE) 2019, held at IIT-Delhi.

"India is capable of dealing with it, and there is no issue of concern," Naik said. He also asserted the readiness of India's forces.

The Punjab government has decided to hand over the investigation to the National Investigation Agency.
