Loving Earth Yoga Cafe: A place where healthy mind, tasty vegan foods blend

With vines curling up the chairs and sparrows swinging on almond leaves, this yoga centre-cum-restaurant is a piece of nature cut into a haven of leisure and well-being. 'Loving Earth Yoga Cafe' could be intriguing a name, but the place in Fort Kochi would seem justifiably green and serene to be tagged so.
The idea of the cafe began from a deep passion and love for yoga, and an understanding that it was a way of life. After Ashtanga yoga in the morning, raw vegan desserts made in a tiny studio kitchen were supplied to the nearby organic shops, cafes, and the yoga community.
"As time went by, 'orders' increased and outgrew our little studio. So we decided it was time to bite the bullet and expand our little raw vegan dessert business into a full-fledged yoga cafe," Edgar (no second name?), who owns the restaurant, says. The cafe now offers a safe space to roll out your mat for yoga and for us to dish out exquisite and vegan delicacies for all taste buds.

Like most structures in the area, the building is of British or Dutch origin. It was an old house owned by an Anglo-Indian family. "We have not made any changes to the structure and used the garden and the courtyard area to convert it into a seating area for our guests," says Edgar. 'Loving Earth Yoga Cafe' combines a yoga studio and a café that emphasises mindfulness, well-being, and sustainability.
'Loving Earth' suggests a focus on eco-consciousness, a love of nature, and a commitment to environmental sustainability. It reflects values such as using organic products, reducing waste, and fostering a deep connection with the Earth.
While 'yoga' is often linked with physical, mental, and spiritual health, promoting balance, relaxation, and mindfulness, 'cafe' implies a space serving healthy, nourishing food and drinks, possibly emphasising plant-based or organic options, promoting a holistic lifestyle. At 'Yoga Cafe', yoga classes, workshops, and meditation sessions are on offer.

'Loving Earth Yoga Cafe' thus represents a space combining practices for personal well-being (through yoga and mindfulness) and environmental consciousness (through eco-friendly practices and healthy food choices).
Edgar claims to be the only vegan cafe in Kochi. The coffee is made with almond or soya milk, and the cheese for the pizza is made of cashew nut.
