This quaint house is specially designed for a couple who runs a stationary shop in their hometown in Manjeri. The house stands on 10 cents that has been contoured off a vast and sprawling piece of land. Roofing tiles are paved on the slanted roof without installing any truss work. Pergola skylight has been arranged in the ceiling to let lots of natural air into the house. Baby mettle is paved on the front yard of the house which exudes the elegant charm of minimalism.
This cosy house, in a 800 sq ft area, has a living-cum-dining hall, kitchen with an adjacent work-area, bedrooms and a common bathroom.
The interiors designed in the open style help overcome the spatial limitations. Instead of building a separate living area, an elegant sofa set in blue jute upholstery has been arranged beside the entrance door.

Granite is paved on the floor and Roman blinds are installed on the windows.
The structure was built on a moderate budget of Rs 17 lakhs and an extra Rs 3 lakhs was spent for furnishing. The plot didn’t have any definite structure or shape. The owner had to spend around Rs 2 lakh from the fixed budget to level the plot and make it suitable for construction. For a total budget of Rs 20 lakhs, this amazing house with all the necessary facilities fits the needs and preferences of a small family.

Among the various factors which helped reduce the cost of construction, purchasing old roof tiles from Feroke played a vital role. These tiles were washed and repainted before paving it on the roof. The area of the house, in square feet, was reduced to meticulously arrange the spaces. The family decided to avoid the car porch and the stairway.

The walls have been given just a single coat of putty. Light points are directly installed without having the false ceiling. The bedrooms are not bath attached. The construction of the house was completed in just 8 months, saving considerable amount of money.
