Ingredients
500 gm tender beef
1 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper powder
3 tbsp gochujang (Korean chili paste)
3 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
2 tbsp corn flour
3 tbsp vegetable oil
3 cloves garlic, chopped
2 tbsp cashew nuts
3 tbsp sliced green onion
2 tbsp cup broth (beef or vegetable)
1 tbsp honey
Preparation
Cut 500 g tender beef into bite-sized pieces.
Add 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp black pepper powder, 2 tbsp gochujang, 3 tbsp soy sauce, and 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste to the beef. Mix well.
Place the marinated beef in a pressure cooker. No additional water is needed, as water will seep from the beef for it to cook.
Cook for 3 whistles or until the beef is tender. Allow the pressure to release naturally.
Once cooked, add 2 tbsp corn flour to the beef and coat it evenly.
Heat 3 tbsp vegetable oil in a heavy-bottomed non-stick pan. Shallow fry the beef until golden brown. Strain and set aside.
To the leftover oil in the pan, add 3 cloves chopped garlic, 2 tbsp cashew nuts, and 2 stalks sliced green onion. Stir-fry for about 2 minutes until aromatic.
Add the fried beef back to the pan.
Season with 1 tsp black pepper powder, 1 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tbsp gochujang, 2 tbsp broth, and 1 tbsp honey.
Cook on medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the gravy thickens (approximately 5-7 minutes).
Garnish with additional sliced green onion if desired.
Serve hot with steamed rice or noodles.
