Ingredients
1 cup semolina
1 small banana
½ cup jaggery
1 tsp ghee
1 tsp dried ginger, cardamom and cumin powder
3 tbsp grated coconut
A pinch of baking soda
A pinch of salt
1 tsp sesame seeds
½ tsp cumin
Oil/ghee as required

Preparations
Take half cup semolina, banana, jaggery and a pinch of salt in the mixer jar
Blend well
Add the remaining semolina
Blend again
Pour the batter into a bowl
Into it add ghee, spice powders, coconut, sesame seeds and cumin
Pour enough water too
Mix well and keep aside for 10 minutes
Now add the baking soda
Heat oil/ghee in a unniyappam vessel
Pour a spoon full of batter into the holes
Flip when one side is cooked
Enjoy soft and delicious unniyappams with hot tea.
