Ingredients
1.5 kg mackerel fillets
2 raw mangoes
2 cups grated coconut
½ tsp turmeric powder
2 tbsp Kashmiri chilli powder
1 tbsp coriander powder
¼ tsp fenugreek powder
7 shallots
1 small piece of ginger (finely chopped)
4 -5 garlic cloves (finely chopped)
10 green chillies
Curry leaves
1 tbsp coconut oil
Water as required
Salt as required
For the tempering
1 tbsp coconut oil
½ tsp mustard seeds
¼ tsp fenugreek seeds
3 shallots
Curry leaves

Preparation
Grind the grated coconut with turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder and water as required
Heat 1 tbsp coconut oil in an earthen pot (chatty)
Sauté the shallots, ginger, garlic and curry leaves
Add the coconut paste and sauté for 2 minutes
Into it add around 4 cups water and salt as required
Mix well
Boil this gravy with the lid on
Now add raw mango slices
Add the cleaned fish fillets as well
Gently mix and allow the fishes pieces to cook
Add ¼ tsp fenugreek powder and turn off the flame
Heat coconut oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds and fenugreek seeds
Roast the shallots and curry leaves.
