Every 80's and 90's kids is bound to remember Parle's candy 'Rola Cola' which went out of production more than 10 years ago. But a recent tweet from a customer urging Parle Products to bring back the candy has prompted the company to revive the brand.

On February 13, 29-year-old Siddharth Sai Gopinath of Kerala tweeted a picture of the popular candy and tagged the company Parle asking how many retweets would it take for them to bring it back in the market.

To Rola Cola's lovers' pleasure, the company replied to the tweet saying it is crowdsourcing opinions on whether to bring it back or not. “If all you need it Rola Cola, then all we need is 10k retweets. #BringBackRolaCola,” they tweeted.

Parle has now tweeted the good news that Rola Cola would be back on the retail shelves soon, thanks to Siddharth and many others who proved their love for the candy.

“We couldn't be more excited to announce the homecoming of an era! #RolaColasComingBack”, Parle Products tweeted. “Good things take time, but the wait is always worth it!”, they added.

Siddharth had even tagged popular handles of celebrities and brands like Netflix, Microsoft, Google, and aviation companies trying to bring the thread to their attention, hoping some of them would love Rola Cola as much as he does.

Bollywood biggies like Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh, Deepika Padukone, and many more were also tagged.

One user had even claimed to create 10 different handles just to retweet this!

Siddharth, who is a businessman based in Ernakulam, says he has many warm memories attached to the candy. “My grandparents used to buy me this when we went out and at that time it was only available in a local theatre which was later shut down.”

Siddharth has now shared the happy news on Twitter, “It's finally here. Congrats everyone.”
