The astronauts aboard the International Space Station can now get taste of the strongest coffee in the world.
The Falcon 9 rocket owned by the Space X Company has recently delivered around 2700 kilos of supplies for the astronauts stationed at the ISS. This includes a batch of the Death Wish coffee, often billed as the ‘world’s strongest coffee’.
The American coffee company prepares this special brew by roasting the coffee beans many times using unique roasting techniques. A pinch of this coffee powder is enough to prepare a cup of ultra strong coffee. Earlier in a TV show, one astronaut had revealed that coffee was what he missed the most in space during his stay at the International Space Station. This is what prompted the authorities to send coffee, that too the most caffeinated one, to the space.
Other than the Death Wish coffee, the package also contains blueberries, ice cream bars and some rats. Rats were sent on the space craft for the astronauts to conduct experiments about bacteria in space.
A small robot named CIMON (Crew Interactive Mobile Companion), which is only the size of a basket ball, too has reached the space station. CIMON, the first robot with artificial intelligence to reach the space, has been sent to aid German astronaut Alexander Gerst to carry out various experiments. Besides Gerst, three Americans and two Russians too are stationed at the International Space Station presently.
