Everything about Omar Lulu's upcoming flick 'Oru Adaar Love' has been making headlines. Right from its first video song 'Manikya malaraya poovi' which was released on Valentine's Day this year, the spat between its director and producer, and consequent change in storyline to the latest 'Freak penne' song which was released on Thursday, every minute detail about the movie has been taken up enthusiastically by the netizens.
In the latest, the song 'Freak penne' welcomed more dislikes than likes on social media platforms. The song video has 300,000 dislikes to just 50,000 likes on YouTube.
However, the song has set a new record surpassing that of 'Manikya malaraya poovi' which became an international super-hit after the viral wink of Priya Varrier. 'Freak penne' has been viewed by 2,425,715 people within just 20 hours.
Commenting on the hate campaign and the alarming number of dislikes to the song video, director Omar Lulu pleaded the moviegoers not to kill his movie in the name of Priya Varrier.
“You people (social media users) made Priya a superstar. There are people who love her and those who hate her. Please don't attack my movie for your hatred towards Priya. Priya is not the only heroine in this movie. This is the ambitious project involving a group of young artistes like her,” Omar Lulu said.
The filmmaker added that he views the huge number of dislikes as likes. "This is a unique track. It is fast and the same time energetic. People will take some time to accept its beauty. Once people are accustomed with the song, I am sure the dislikes you hit will naturally turn to likes,"Omar Lulu said in an interview.
He did not forget to thank the trollers for keeping his movie in the limelight. “Thank you trollers... Freak penne has crossed the numbers Manikya Malaraya poovi.. secured,” said a confident Lulu.
