This floating house in Alappuzha will take your breath away

When travelling becomes safer after the lockdown restrictions are eased, one should visit Canoe Ville, the floating marvel facing Punnamada Lake in Alappuzha district.

The highlight of this tourist centre, which is situated 5km from Alappuzha town, is the canoe cottage anchored in a small canal near the shores of the Punnamada Lake. This facility on water has a bedroom with two cots, a large verandah with chairs and a small patio on the rear side of the boat. Moreover, the floating house has western toilets, shower, and bathroom, among other facilities.

Hammocks are also put in place outside the cottage for the visitors to enjoy nature’s beauty.

Another attraction is the 2,500 sq ft convention centre on water. The hall, which can accommodate close to 350 people, is ideal for conducting conferences, exhibitions and marriage-related functions.

The fun activities include bamboo rafting and fishing. The facility also has play area for children.
