Hello
Vijay criticised Manjrekar for his reaction to his name being on the top of the batters' conversation rates list in the country.
The cricketer-turned-commentator was also in praise of the experiments India made over the course of the T20I series, saying they worked to perfection which is great going forward.
The cricketer-turned-commentator also said Pant and all-rounder Hardik Pandya can form the backbone of the Indian middle order in white-ball cricket.
"He made the decisions according to match situations. He seems to be enjoying the captaincy and looks very relaxed," Manjrekar added.
Manjrekar advised Rahul to have fun and express himself while batting, instead of taking the burden of winning matches single-handedly.
Manjrekar recently said that he has a "few problems" when people call off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin "one of the all-time greats of the game".
Manjrekar had earlier commented that Ashwin isn't an 'all-time great' as he hasn't done well in SENA (South Africa, England, New Zealand, Australia) countries.
The former Indian captain slammed cricketer-turned-commentator Manjrekar for questioning K L Rahul's selection in India's Test squad for the upcoming Australia tour.
According to Manjrekar, a bad precedent is set when a played is recalled for Test on the basis of his IPL performance and it "massively demotivates" those playing the Ranji Trophy.
Due to white-ball vice-captain Rohit Sharma's excellent captaincy track record in the T20 cricket, especially in the IPL, time and time again spilt captaincy debate opens up in India but according to Manjrekar, there is no need at all.
