Hello
Apex court asks Vigilance to complete investigation in two months.
The latest move against Jacob Thomas is for his books “Karyavum Karanangalum” and “Sravukalkkoppam Neenthumbol” written in 2017.
The High Court had passed the verdict last November while allowing a petition by Thomas challenging the FIR registered by the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau.
Even after superannuation, his retirement benefits such as provident fund amount have not been paid by the state government.
Jacob Thomas is facing disciplinary action for publishing a book without the government's permission.
The instruction in this regard has been sent from the General Administration Department to the Chief Minister's Office. The CMO has given the go-ahead, reported Manorama News quoting sources. The action comes as part of a departmental enquiry.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has signed the order, appointing him as the Chief Managing Director (CMD) of the state-owned Shornur Metal Industries Limited.
A recommendation seeking to reinstate him in service has been sent to the Kerala Chief Secretary in the wake of the recent order of the central tribunal over his suspension by the Kerala government.
When asked about joining the BJP as he was frequently seen in programmes organised by the RSS, Thomas said he did not have anything against the saffron party.
The Central Administrative Tribunal on Monday ordered Kerala government to reinstate the suspended police officer.
