The updated textbooks for Classes 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9 were implemented in the previous academic year.
Experts reviewing the textbooks found significant omissions in the mathematics curriculum, particularly in topics like decimal numbers, algebra, and ratios.
The books will be available online at the same prices as in schools.
The second part of the Class 9 Social Science textbooks will include topics which would provide basic awareness on gender spectrum.
Curriculum committee will decide whether to include these portions in a supplementary textbook or the new textbooks.
“We want to create positive citizens not violent and depressed individuals”, said NCERT chief.
In total, 173 textbooks have been published in various languages for these classes and students can download the e-books in Malayalam, English, Tamil and Kannada mediums.
The meeting decided to develop in primary schoolchildren the ability to read and write words and sentences without mistakes.
The government has given permission to print the second volume of the textbooks in these classes by including the lessons in the 19 books, which are the third volume of textbooks
As part of the initiative, the authorities have set up a team of 900 teachers to prepare the new textbooks
